The 5 Best Places to Stay in Mazatlán

  1. Estrella del Mar. Of course, where you stay in Mazatlán is totally up to your personal taste and budget.  But if you stay at Estrella del Mar, you can be on the beach in 10 minutes after landing at Mazatlán International Airport.  When I say beach, I mean 3.5 miles of secluded beach that feels like it’s all yours. The resort may be 20 minutes by car from the action of town, but it’s only a quick 10-minute drive on a beautiful new road to Stone Island, where for 15 pesos you can take the local ferry for a really fun ride.  Once the boat drops you off in town. You can grab a pulmonia (an open-air taxi) into Centro or the Golden Zone for daytime or evening entertainment. Website
  2. El Cid Resorts.  Located in the heart of the Golden Zone, El Cid Resorts has been at the forefront of tourism in Mazatlán.  The resort is comprised of four hotels:  El Cid El Moro Beach Hotel, El Cid Castilla Beach Hotel. El Cid Marina Beach Hotel, and El Cid Granada Hotel & Country Club.  My favorite is the El Cid Marina Beach Hotel.  It’s their newest property, and I’m a sucker for the swim-up bar in one of their two awesome pools.  No matter which hotel you choose, El Cid transportation will chauffeur you to the other El Cid hotels. Where you can use all their facilities and dine at any of their restaurants.
