- Pedro y Lola. A longtime favorite in the heart of Plaza Machado. Live music, friendly staff, great food, and atmosphere! My favorites: the garlic mushroom appetizer and Pedro y Lola’s shrimp special. The owner, Alfredo Gomez Rubio, is a Renaissance man and a leader in the revitalization of Centro Historico.

- El Presidio. Located in a phenomenal, historic, 1876 Mazatlán building in the heart of Centro Historico, El Presidio is a spectacle restaurant with tremendous character and great food. I love sitting at their righteous bar to grab a few drinks. The restaurant offers indoor/outdoor seating in an open-air setting.
Website / Facebook - Pancho’s. Pancho’s is another one of those Mazatlán staples and for good reasons. They offer consistently great Mexican food at an affordable price. Plus, I love sitting outside facing the ocean for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Website - Hector’s Bistro. Only one block from the historical district center of town, Hector’s is the golden jewel of the Centro dining scene, featuring European cuisine and desserts to die for. Hector’s Bistro is a must-stop for foodies visiting Mazatlan!
Website/Facebook - Casa Mayora. Located in Ola Altas, how can you go wrong with a restaurant that features artwork honoring the women chefs of Mexico on their walls. Great food to go with relaxing ambience. Facebook
- Casa 46. Awesome location overlooking Plaza Machado and probably one of the most high-end, fine dining experiences in Mazatlán. You can sit inside the restaurant, which is elegant, but my recommendation would be to sit outside and take in the views and energy from Plaza Machado. Be aware that there are two flights of steps to get to the restaurant and no elevator.
Website/Facebook - F.I.S.H. Love everything about this addition to the Golden Zone dining scene, including their righteous ceviche, shrimp tacos, quesadillas, grilled Mahi and other fresh seafood. Pacifico micheladas in frosted mugs and tasty mango margaritas are great ways to wash it all down. Friendly service!
Website - El Cuchupetas. Located in Villa Union, this is Sinaloan cuisine at its best! Dignitaries and even the president of Mexico are frequent guests. Major local scene. Lunch only. Worth the effort! The scallops are the largest, freshest and tastiest I’ve ever eaten and the Governor’s Tacos are to die for. Actually, everything is incredible. Go there hungry!
Facebook - La Casa Country. I’m all about fresh shrimp and seafood when I’m in Mazatlán, but when I have visitors who want to eat meat, La Casa Country is the place to go. It’s a Mexican country & western restaurant, fun for the whole family, complete with singing and dancing waiters and American-style Angus quality steaks. A Mazatlán staple.
Facebook - El Parador Espanol. Paella is one of my favorite dishes, and no one does it better than Chef Julian Portugal. who learned the art of Spanish cuisine while living in Spain. Luckily for us, he brought his culinary skills and Spanish cuisine to Mazatlán. After over 20 years since its opening. El Parador continues to offer a wide variety of Spanish and international fare, starting with salads, pasta, tapas, and beef cuts to an unlimited number of exquisite combinations of aromas, flavors, and textures.
